Der Wald
Autumn 2013
The Forrest
The autumn trees loomed eerily over me as leaves rustled beneath my feet. A cold gust sent a shiver through my body as I fiddled with my camera. It was a gentle autumn afternoon in the woods surrounding my hometown, Hohenhausen. I set out hoping to take some good shots, but after several cold hours I had only captured some meagre pictures of the underbrush. I shook my camera in frustration and that, that was when my breakthrough emerged. I glanced down at my screen and what greeted me took my breath away, it was a surreal painting of the trees that surrounded me, the warped trunks and colours were mesmerising. I was like a child in a candy shop as I snapped away with glee. I walked home with a smile on my face, contented with my photos and looking forward to hot cup of coffee…
